October 7th Commemoration

The moving program will include reading of the names of the hostages by all our community’s rabbis, as well as four moving musical selections, with participation of children of the Syracuse Hebrew Day School. There will be a speaker from Israel, provided by JFNA.

In the words of Michael Balanoff, Federation President/CEO: “Israel is engaged in an existential war. We remember October 7th as a reminder, even as we fight antisemitism locally, nationally and globally, even as we pray for the return of the living hostages and the recovery of the hostages who have come home, even as we pray for the souls of the hostages and the 1200 others killed on October 7th, that the Jewish people and the Jewish State need always to remain vigilant and strong. The program that we are presenting asserts in the strongest possible terms: Am Israel Chai.
